How is Shockwave Therapy used?
At Axis Spine and Spor,t we utilize soft tissue therapy primarily to treat soft tissues like muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The pressure waves stimulate a profound healing rate in tissues 1-2 inches under the surface of the skin, making it ideal for these types of conditions. The treatment is very targeted and forces can be applied directly to the problem area of the patient. If a patient has an acute condition such as a traumatic injury or new repetitive stress injury, a protocol can be used to reduce the turnaround time to heal the issue and to reduce pain and inflammation during this time. For chronic conditions, Shockwave Therapy can be used to stimulate a healing response to repair damaged tissue and supplement an exercise program to supercharge the recovery process.
How much does Shockwave Therapy cost?
Shockwave therapy is a low-cost option to treat soft tissue injuries when compared to alternatives. All therapy sessions are up to 15 minutes long. Please see our current prices for Shockwave Therapy sessions:

- 6 visit Shockwave Care Plan - $330
- 12 visit Shockwave Care Plan - $600
*For acute conditions, a standard protocol is 6 sessions. For a chronic condition, a standard protocol is 12 sessions.
